Bamboo blade is another anime that I just watch recently, yeah I am a bit slow in catching up to the latest anime due to my preference in watching them only when they are completed xD. After seeing Tama-chan in the anime I just can’t resist in getting her, and I find Kotobukiya version to be the better representation of her, minus those resin/pre-painted resin at e2046 of course ^^.

Tama-chan is dressed in her protective armor with her shinai and head gear in each arm. Unfortunately she’s screwed to the base, even though it’s possible to remove the screws, the peg is under her foot and not on the base, so she can’t stand without her base. Her base is made to look like wooden floor, but didn’t really work though since it’s still look too plastic.

Tama-chan name on her protective armour, pretty good detail on the armour and head gear.

She does looks like this in the anime xD.

Overall a decently made figure from Kotobukiya, not much complain on it except for the obvious seam lines on both her arms. The paint job looks good too.

Was kinda trying to make the setting to look like a dojo, but I don’t really have necessary stuff to do that. A 1/6 katana and sort of potted plant to make it less plain xD.

Air Gear was another anime that I somehow didn’t watch when it was release, actually I didn’t even know about this anime until I decide to help some cosplayers to shoot their Air Gear cosplay. It was then when I went looking for the anime and watched it and I was hooked. Currently I am reading the manga since the anime was left kinda hanging but unfortunately the english version of the manga release is slow and currently only at Vol. 9 while the Japanese version is at Vol. 21, had to rely on scanlation for my Air Gear fix at the moment xD.

Anyway back to the figure, sadly there isn’t much Air Gear figures out there, there are the Megahouse Ringo and Simca, a Simca polystone from Yamato and a Simca PVC as well and the latest is a Ringo from Yamato which is the only Air Gear figure I have now. This is the Hentai Kamen version of Ringo that made an appearance during Kogarasumaru with Behemoth. The figures photos are NSFW btw, so view at your own risk xD.

When she was release I saw some photos of her that makes her looks quite bad but fortunately it was just badly taken photos and she actually looks pretty good. A bit lack of detail in someplaces, and her skin tone is kinda pale other than that she’s ok. She comes with a transparent base with the word Air Gear on it, two pieces of plastic moulded to fit her Air Gear hold her to the base.

Not much extra accessories, just the bag and hair. Her twin tails are removable to fit the bag and extra hair. There’s an extra stand to her straps which I only use for one of the shot.

Overall a decent looking figure except the lack of detail and the colors could have been better especially the skin tone. I would have prefer a figure of her in sera fuku but seeing that there isn’t really a lot of Air Gear figures being release, I don’t think that will happen anytime soon.

Note: Pics might look too dark for some people since I can only adjust it to my LCD.

Hmmm haven’t updated my blog much lately, between catching up to some of my backlog of animes, editing photos from one of my previous portrait shoot, I didn’t really have time to shoot any of the recent figures that I had purchase. So I thought I’ll just do a post on some of the recent stuff I got instead XD.

Bought Air Gear vol. 9 recently, well maybe not that recent hahaha and also Megami Deluxe vol. 10 at Kinokuniya. Found the megami when I was at Kino recently with Aiko, and found out that there’s a nekomimi Feito poster inside YAY. The poster its the same as the illustration on the cover but since I am a Feito fanboy, I am just gonna mention her xD.

Figures pic after the jump but NSFW though so BEWARE.

Some recent figures I purchased, Alter Chua Churam, Yamato Ringo, and Kotobukiya Tamaki with Froggy Mikulu stamp of approva ^^. Will try to do a shoot for them as soon as possible hehe xD.

It’s been a while since I post some photos of my room, not even sure how much has changed since I last posted, but I guess the most visible change would be the additional figures that I have on displayed.

This is my work table, had to put some of my figures on the table and on top of the CPU due to lack of space. Try to keep it clean as much as possible as I don’t like messy table hhaha. I use this table for my figures shoot as well, have to move my lappy, Ringo and Chua Churam away when I take photos.

More pics after the jump

The shelf right opposite my table where I store my books, a few figures and my mangas. Can see a whole loads of figure boxes on top and beside the shelf, need to rearrange them again soon though. They are quite a hazzard btw ^^;;;

Haruhi gang are display on a small table where I put my camera equipment as well as some photography magazines and books.

The shelf next to where I sit is where I displayed most of the figures in my collection, had to DIY some plastic to cover it to keep dust out. Some of the artbooks and anime DVD I have is stored here as well.

1 thing I lack in my room is anime posters I think, feel like putting some up but they gonna get dusty very easily though. I wonder if this qualify as an Otaku room haha.

Another Mikuru added to my figures collection. I actually bought her after she was released for quite sometime, something that I don’t usually do as I always pre-order the figures that I wanted ahead of time. Was actually thinking of skipping her, but from the pics that I have seen online, she’s just to MOE to pass up xD. So I bought her from Hobby Search, they still have her in-stock btw xD, and she arrived last week.

Mikuru is dressed up in the meido outfit that she wore during the Annual School Festival in the anime, the previously released Tsuraya is in the same oufit as well. She comes with an extra hand for the nekomimi pose and of course the nekomimi headdress xD.

Well the figure itself is well sculpted and painted, as expected of something from Max Factory, though I find that her head is kinda big if view from the front angle, maybe it’s just me haha. I do wish she have some support on the other foot though, as with the first MF Mikuru, only one of her foot is connected to the peg.

anbia@hmetro.com.my

Koleksi anak orang kaya
Oleh Mohd Jamilul Anbia Md Denin
anbia@hmetro.com.my

KUALA LUMPUR: Kebanjiran patung permainan lucah yang dijual di beberapa pusat beli-belah sekitar ibu kota dikesan dibawa masuk peniaga tempatan semata-mata bagi memenuhi minat dan hobi aneh terutama golongan anak orang kaya yang menggemarinya.

Perkara ini didedahkan Ketua Unit Penguat kuasa Pusat, Bahagian Kawalan Penerbitan dan Teks al-Quran, Kementerian Dalam Negeri (KDN) Mohd Rizal Abidin selepas melakukan beberapa serbuan ke premis menjual permainan, susulan pendedahan Harian Metro berhubung penjualan permainan lucah 4 Ogos lalu.

Menurutnya, rata-rata peniaga ditemui mendakwa hanya menjual patung terbabit terutama kepada golongan anak ‘orang berada’ berikutan harga patung terbabit menjangkau hingga RM200 setiap satu.

Menurutnya, rata-rata peniaga menjual patung lucah berkenaan menyedari kesalahan dilakukan.

Title: Wealthy Children’s Collection

KUALA LUMPUR: Surge of erotic figurines sold in several shopping complexes around the city capital had been confirmed being imported by local retailers for the sake of fulfilling the demand and interest of people with such wierd hobbies especially those that are rich.

This matter was unveiled by Central Enforcer Chief, Publication control and Quranic text Division, Kementerian Dalam Negeri (KDN*, Ministry of Internal Affairs) Mohd. Rizal Abidin - after several raids to toy selling premises, following a cover by Harian Metro (The newspaper responsible) regarding the selling of erotic toys on the 4th of August.

According to him, most of the sellers claimed that they only sell those figurines to ‘the more established youngsters’ due to the price of said figurines reaching up to MYR 200 each.

“According to the seller, most of these ‘obscene’ toy dolls are popular amongst teenagers that buys it for their personal collection, or as gifts for friends.”

“The KDN (see above) take the selling of said erotic themed toy dolls seriously and investigation of this matter is conducted as soon as the news was published. Action had to be taken as these erotic figurines contains elements that can harm corrupt our society’s morals.”

According to him again several operations made involving four locations of toy shops around famous shopping complexes at Star Hill, Subang Jaya, Petaling Jaya and Brickfields since last Monday.

“The operations involving 8 officers from Putrajaya’s KDN branch supported by Selangor’s KDN officer led by Assistant Senior Enforcer from Publication control and Quranic text Division, Mohammad Hashim Kamaruddin finally succeeded to track down various erotic figurines found to be sold openly to public.”

“From the acquired evidences, the KDN confiscated more than 114 units of figurines with erotic elements from all of the above mentioned premises.”

All of the confiscated erotic figurines are estimated to be around MYR 10,000 and were brought to the KDN’s HQ at Putrajaya while prosecuting measures are being undertaken.

“Shop owners found posessing and selling of said figurines can be jailed for no more than 5 years and fined for no less than MYR 20,000 according to Section 7 of the Malaysian Law.”

According to him again, most of the sellers of above mentioned erotic figurines are aware of their crime.

“They claimed that those figurines were mainly imported from China and were succesfully avoiding authority’s inspection at local ports before being smuggled into this country.”

My view on the article, I would say lack of research and over generalization. I don’t know about other places, but here it’s easier to find decent and clothed figures rather than those nude ones, which are usually either bootleg or resin. Well you can find them if you really look for it but reputable shop that sells original figures don’t carry them though.

Also those that collect figures are mostly young working adult and not school going children as mention in the article, grouping figures together with children toy is so wrong imo. Students won’t even be able to afford to buy those figures anyway unless their parents buy for them.

I don’t really blame the mother for making the complain, though I blame the shop for displaying suchs figures in the open and the over zealous reporter that wrote the first article without proper research. This becomes a problem for us genuine figures collector, since those above mention figures are mostly bootleg version and probably makeup only a small percentage of the local figures market. I just hope the articles doesn’t make it hard for us to continue with our hobby.

Anyway more rant from Aiko, LilKeV84, Setsuna and Fat Cat Lim.

Cosplay competition finally started after being delay for hours.

Interesting skit by Ichigo and Commander Chaos.

Icecream, hmm I forgot what she was cosplaying as.

E_G trying to be moe xD.

Group shot of the gang.

And finally, the best thing that happen to me that day was getting my hand on Nendoroid Puchi Froggy Mikuru. Well actually E_G got it, but I ask him to sell it to me, he was nice enough to do that xD.

Overall the event was better than C2AGE that was held recently, but still kinda lack luster. The organizing was horrible, with the cosplay competition being delayed for hours. Well still had some fun with the TFM gang as usual, having display at this kinda of event became sort of a gathering for us figures collectors here now xD.

Finally the last of the Shuraki girls have arrived, hmm actually she arrived quite sometime ago, just that I didn’t write this post until now xD. At first Rize was my least favourite of the Shuraki girls, but once I got her, she ain’t that bad, but Shall and MeiFeng are still my fav though.

This batch of photos was uploaded like a few weeks ago, so those that frequent my Flickr has probably already seen them. I only shot the battle damage version and group shots a while ago xD. Experimented with something different in these shots, by using a glass on top of the background paper and placing a flash underneath, I created the glowing effect under the figure, which make the ground looks kinda like ice. Quite like the result that came out from this shoot.

Anyway back to the figure, she came in a suprisingly huge and heavy box, most probably due to her very large and heavy skirt. It’s so heavy that her left foot peg broke off from the base, another collector that I know have the same problem. Is anyone else having this problem as well ? Currently I had her in battle damage clothing to reduce the weight and she’s held by only the peg on her right foot.

The design of her dress is quite nice, with the flowing belt and skirt that make her look more dynamic. I would have prefer that her left hand can really hold the halberd though, instead of resting on her breast xD.

Definitely looks moe~ xD.

A few battle damage shots.

Group shot of all the Shuraki girls, kinda hard to place them properly for the shoot though, with all the weapons and flowing skirt haha.

After I received Rize, I read in Dannychoo.com that there will be a second Shuraki series. Well there are a few more girls in the booklet that looks pretty good if made into figures, but I am not sure whether I’ll be collecting the second series though. Guess I’ll just wait and see.
